Toronto is taking a bold step toward climate action by launching its very first Climate Week, running from October 1–3, 2025.
As a sustainability consultant based in Canada, I was curious about this new event, and after diving into the details, I’m more excited than ever to attend, and to share what I’ve learned with you.
Whether you’re in the climate space or just starting to explore sustainability, here’s everything you need to know about Toronto Climate Week (TOCW) and why it matters.
What Is Toronto Climate Week?
Toronto Climate Week is a citywide convergence of climate, creativity, business, art, and culture, all with a mission to spark awareness, promote sustainability, and inspire local action.
While other global cities like New York and London have held climate weeks for years, this marks Toronto’s inaugural event. And it’s only the beginning, starting in June 2026, TOCW will expand into a week-long, annual celebration of climate innovation.
Why Should You Attend?
There are three big reasons to attend Toronto Climate Week:
- You Care About Climate
If you’ve ever asked why our weather is getting more extreme, wondered about electric vehicles, or been curious about how businesses are tackling sustainability, this event is for you. - You Want to Get Involved
Whether you already work in the climate sector or are just interested in breaking into it, TOCW is a fantastic opportunity to connect, learn, and take part. - You Want to Make a Local Impact
While global events are important, real change starts at home. TOCW is a chance to discover what’s already happening in your own city, and how you can contribute.
